New alliance to assess workflow and reality capture
LONDON, ENGLAND, and BOSTON, MA, (November 15, 2021) – Oculo, a leading AI and deep-tech company, and Touchplan, an award-winning collaborative construction planning software, today announced a partnership to work together to assess a workflow that combines look-ahead planning with reality capture.
Communication, especially from those who make plans to the field, is frequently a pain point. Touchplan and Oculo feel that this can largely be resolved by using comprehensive, shared, and up-to-date visual documentation of the jobsite, allowing construction teams to be concise, precise, and get the weekly plan to the lowest level.
“Our goal is to take the 20,000 foot-view from which most project managers see the jobsite and get it down to the lowest level,” said Jason Barrington-Hines, Operations & Growth Manager at Oculo. “All parties should be able to have the same information available to them to understand the macro workings of the job from any location, and our tech combined with Touchplan can help achieve that.”
The partnership between Touchplan and Oculo will allow visual documentation to be used proactively; to feed into dynamic scheduling, and to align all members of the project team. Planning sessions can become virtual rehearsals, where all members of the team can visualize what needs to be done next, and remote team members can also contribute. This creates a jobsite where obstacles are avoided, responsibilities are clear, and constraints are less of an issue. Owners and architects can have data-driven conversations with contractors and collaborate openly.
Touchplan Technology Partnership Manager Andrew Piland added, “Touchplan prides itself on being an innovative partner for our customers. We adapt the technology to their processes and are truly a customer-driven solution. Partnering with Oculo makes Touchplan better because it gives us an edge over simply being a stand-alone solution.”
###
About Oculo
Oculo leverages the power of advanced computer vision and machine learning to create a virtual copy of any construction site that is regularly updated and can be accessed online from anywhere in the world. This removes the need for teams and stakeholders to be onsite to make a decision or get things done, transforms workflows, and effortlessly creates comprehensive visual as-built documentation. The outcome of which is increased productivity at the site level, a powerful weapon to defend against claims, and visual history of the project, which will pay dividends throughout the lifetime of the asset. Collaboration will begin with “Build. Lead. Succeed.” podcast
Boston, MA — (July 29, 2021) – Award-winning construction technology platform Touchplan, the software division of MOCA Systems, Inc., announces that it has entered into a marketing partnership with the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC).
This new collaboration will focus on Touchplan and NAWIC leveraging their common missions to foster open-mindedness, connection, and collaboration in the construction industry in order to make people’s lives better. As a result, the goal is to empower each organization’s respective brands, messaging, and missions through a series of marketing content, education and events, while also strengthening and amplifying the voices of women in the construction industry.
The first project as part of this initiative will be to launch a new podcast entitled ‘Build. Lead. Succeed.’ This show is dedicated to sharing real stories and conversations with women in the construction industry.
Hosted by Angela Highland, project manager for Ironrock Commercial Construction, and produced by Touchplan, the podcast will cover topics that women face every day on jobsites, ranging from workplace harassment prevention and the importance of setting workplace boundaries to ill-fitting PPE, sexist remarks on the job, poor port-o-john options, and more.
“Women occupy 10 percent of the industry, so we’ve gained some ground but not nearly enough,” says Anne Pfleger, NAWIC national president and estimating safety, and HR administrator at Charles Construction Services, Inc. “There are thousands of women out there who can relate to the struggles we face in this industry. I believe this is the perfect format for women in the industry to be able to become part of the conversation about issues that affect their everyday lives.”
A trailer episode for ‘Build. Lead. Succeed.’ is available now, and the first official episode will launch on Aug. 3, 2021. Additional episodes are planned to air on the first Tuesday of every month and will be hosted on The Touchplan Podcast Network on www.soundcloud.com which connects to almost all podcast channels including Apple Podcasts and Google Play.
In addition to the podcast launch, Touchplan will be contributing its point of view to the program at the upcoming NAWIC Annual Conference from August 11-14. Touchplan’s Director of Customer Success Josie Cutts will be hosting a breakout session entitled ’Building, Growing and Developing a Spartan Team.’ The session will focus on the core principles that set up conditions at work that ensure the success of both the team and the teammates.
“We couldn’t be more excited to be partnering with NAWIC and rolling out the ‘Build. Lead. Succeed.’ podcast to the world,” says David A. Frankel, head of growth marketing at Touchplan. “Construction only gets better when all voices are equally heard- not just during a single week or month of the year. Every day. We are proud to be aligned with NAWIC in its mission to foster connections and collaboration in order to make people’s lives better.”
About NAWIC

Construction Performance Platform Connects Master Schedule to Field Plan
Boston, MA, (May 3, 2021) — Award-winning construction technology platform Touchplan, a division of MOCA Systems, Inc., announces the release of a groundbreaking innovation that empowers construction teams to vastly improve project performance and profitability by easily aligning their external master schedule with their daily jobsite execution plan.
The enhancement is available for immediate use by the thousands of construction professionals and executives that collaborate on the Touchplan platform globally. It eliminates what has long been a tedious, manual process for field managers to connect what is happening on the jobsite with the project controls set in the master schedule. More importantly, this capability resolves the costly issue of mishandling of data and insights created from re-planning daily field plans and the expectations set in the external master schedule during pre-construction.
“Data-driven solutions that connect the external master schedule with the real-time changes in the daily plan is the next critical step in the evolution of construction project optimization,” said Michael Sullivan, general manager, Touchplan. “For the first time, contractors and owners have the ability to immediately correlate key profitability factors from the execution plan such as labor productivity, materials, quality, and safety requirements with the expectations set in pre-construction planning.”
“With Touchplan, we easily transition the CPM’s conceptual milestones from our scheduling software to set the goals for the daily planning effort,” said Nathan Thompson, scheduling manager for Lee Kennedy Company, a full-service construction firm. “As a project progresses, we back feed the progress gathered from our look-ahead plan into our scheduling software to gain insight into the overall health of the project. It is a real game-changer.”
This innovation enables project executives to quickly visualize and determine if their look-ahead schedule is aligned with the master schedule. Superintendents can focus more on managing jobsite performance more effectively. Scheduling managers now have easier access to the commitments made in the daily plan and can confidently understand how the overall schedule is trending. Senior management can analyze data across single and multiple projects, making better and faster decisions that allow for more effective communication with a project’s owner or their representatives.
Mr. Sullivan added, “The primary operational benefits are clear. With critical real-time project updates now connected with the master schedule, everyone from the owner to the front line on the jobsite is able to understand where the project is in relation to the big picture. As a result, more jobs will be safer, higher quality, completed on budget, and ahead of schedule. That means happier owners, happier workers, and, most importantly, happier communities served by the finished projects.”
